Senior Client Accountant
Location: City of London
Salary: £45,000–£48,000 + performance-related bonus

Cobalt is working with an international property consultancy to recruit a Senior Client Accountant for its London team. This opportunity offers exposure to commercial assets, responsibility for client financial reporting and VAT processes, and the chance to develop your career within an established property management function.

Our client is an international property consultancy with an established property management division, supporting commercial property owners with financial reporting, property accounting and portfolio management.

The role and responsibilities
As a Senior Client Accountant, you'll report to a Team Leader and take responsibility for financial reporting and accounting activities across a commercial property portfolio. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing financial reports across commercial property assets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
- Managing property accounting activities relating to rental income, service charges and operational expenditure.
- Supporting VAT processing, preparing and reviewing VAT returns, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Monitoring financial transactions, investigating discrepancies and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Preparing client accounts, reconciliations and financial information for reporting and audit purposes.
- Monitoring portfolio income, expenditure and cash flow to support financial oversight.
- Working with clients, property managers and internal finance teams to resolve accounting queries.
- Delivering financial reporting in line with agreed deadlines and service level agreements.
The Senior Client Accountant will have the opportunity to develop client relationships and broaden their commercial property accounting expertise while contributing to the delivery of financial reporting across the portfolio.

- Working knowledge of property accounting, particularly across commercial property portfolios.
- Experience preparing client financial reports, reconciliations and financial accounts.
- Understanding of rent accounting, service charges and property-related expenditure.
- Working knowledge of VAT processing, reconciliations and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in Excel and the ability to analyse financial information.
- Communication skills to work with clients, property managers and internal stakeholders.
- The ability to manage reporting deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience supporting financial reporting across complex commercial property portfolios will be particularly relevant.
