We’re looking for an ambitious, ACA or ACCA-qualified Senior Client Manager to take ownership of a growing client portfolio and lead our established team in Stockport.

This is a senior, commercially focused role offering the opportunity to act as a trusted adviser to corporate clients and owner-managed businesses, while helping to shape the continued growth and success of the Stockport office.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing a dedicated portfolio of corporate clients and owner-managed businesses
  • Acting as the primary point of contact and building trusted, long-term client relationships
  • Reviewing and finalising statutory accounts, management accounts, corporation tax computations and self-assessment returns
  • Identifying tax-planning opportunities, including remuneration planning, corporate restructuring and capital allowances
  • Leading, mentoring and developing junior and semi-senior colleagues
  • Managing workflow and ensuring Companies House and HMRC deadlines are met
  • Taking responsibility for portfolio profitability, billing, fee negotiations and recovery rates
  • Monitoring work in progress and ensuring assignments are delivered within budget
  • Identifying cross-selling opportunities and supporting the continued growth of the office

  • You’ll be fully qualified ACA or ACCA, with recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice and a proven track record of managing a portfolio of corporate clients.
  • You’ll also bring:
    • Experience of supervising and developing accounting professionals
    • Strong technical knowledge across accounts and corporate and personal tax
    • Confidence using CCH and cloud accounting systems such as Xero
    • Commercial understanding of billing, work in progress and recovery management
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial information into practical business advice
    • A proactive approach to building client relationships and identifying opportunities for growth
