The Role:

Client Reporting is responsible for collecting and distributing investment data to internal stakeholders, clients and regulators. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality sustainability reporting to M&G’s clients, ensuring accurate and timely production while driving process simplification, stronger controls, improved data quality, increased automation and a scalable reporting capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own complex sustainability reporting deliverables across fund, product, client and regulatory reporting cycles, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely and supported by robust controls, evidence and sign-off processes.
  • Deliver reporting production activities, including preparation of reporting outputs, template updates, data review, action tracking and coordination of approvals.
  • Analyse and validate sustainability data from sources, performing reconciliations, quality checks and issue resolution.
  • Investigate and resolve complex reporting and data issues, identifying root causes across data, methodologies, processes, technology and stakeholder inputs.
  • Continuously review reporting processes, controls and operating models to improve quality, scalability, efficiency and risk management.
  • Challenge existing ways of working, identifying manual, inefficient activities and driving improvement initiatives and governance.
  • Lead and support remediation of high-risk reporting processes and identify opportunities for automation, workflow tools, analytics and reporting technologies.
  • Translate sustainability regulatory and framework requirements into practical reporting processes, controls, templates, data requirements and delivery plans.
  • Support regulatory change implementation through impact assessments, process updates and operational readiness activities.
  • Review the interdependencies between sustainability regulations, fund structures, product disclosures, data sources, methodologies, governance processes and reporting outputs.
  • Coordinate reporting activity across Sustainability, Product, Investment, Compliance, Legal, Distribution, Client Reporting, Operations, Technology, Data teams and external vendors.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to ensure early capture of reporting requirements and provide comprehensive impact analysis.
  • Manage relationships with third-party data providers and external vendors to support reporting delivery and data quality.
  • Maintain reporting governance artefacts, including procedures, process maps, controls, evidence packs, issue logs, stakeholder maps, reporting calendars and sign-off trackers.
  • Review reporting outputs produced by colleagues and partner teams, providing constructive feedback to enhance quality, consistency and control.
  • Support governance forums, working groups and stakeholder discussions through clear reporting of progress, risks, recommendations and decisions.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments, regulatory requirements and best practice relating to sustainability reporting.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Client Reporting strategy, working within a global operating model across London and Mumbai.
  • Build reporting capability by sharing knowledge, improving documentation and promoting consistent ways of working across teams and locations.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of sustainability reporting within asset management, including fund, product, client, entity and website disclosures.
  • Good knowledge of key sustainability regulations and frameworks, including SFDR, UK SDR, EU Taxonomy, impact reporting and PAI concepts.
  • Experience in sustainability, regulatory, fund or client reporting within financial services, with a strong understanding of the interaction between regulations, disclosures, data, controls, governance and operating models.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interrogate, reconcile and challenge complex data from multiple sources and assess the impact of regulatory, methodological, data or system changes.
  • Understanding of data quality, data lineage, ownership, controls, auditability and reporting traceability requirements.
  • Experience with ESG data providers, reporting technologies, workflow tools and data visualisation solutions (e.g. Power BI), with knowledge of automation and data platforms advantageous.
  • Strong control mindset, with the ability to identify risks, investigate root causes and implement practical solutions that improve reporting quality and efficiency.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and drive outcomes across multiple teams and external partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory, reporting and data topics into clear and practical messages.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience managing large, complex datasets.
  • Good understanding of the asset classes in which M&G invests.
  • Proactive, collaborative, improvement and client-focused, balancing delivery priorities with continuous enhancement of reporting processes, controls and operating models.
