About the Role
This role offers the opportunity to work in a spacious open-plan department with an embedded children’s emergency unit, neighbouring Acute Medical Unit, and excellent working relationships with diagnostic and inpatient teams. You will be encouraged to pursue and develop special interests to complement the current team and supported in your development and career goals.
This post is fixed term for up to 12 months to cover Maternity leave.

You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of middle-grade doctors, ACPs, ENPs, and consultants in the ED at the Princess of Wales Hospital providing front-line care to patients of all ages. The department provides a consultant-led service and there is direct consultant shop floor cover approximately 13 hours a day, 7 days a week. This role will involve 6 months working in the main department and 6 months working exclusively in the children's emergency bay.

The ED at the Princess of Wales Hospital sees approximately 64,000 new patients per year. There is substantial exposure to the breadth of EM cases ranging from seriously ill or injured adults and children to minor injuries, with ample opportunities to develop EM procedural skills. Our ED has a dedicated, dynamic, and friendly multi-disciplinary team. This provides an excellent and supportive working environment.
You will have opportunities to be involved in undergraduate teaching and mentoring junior doctors.
