Senior Clinical Fellow in Otolaryngology (ENT)
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Clinical Fellow in Otolaryngology (ENT) to join our dynamic and supportive department. The role is for a period until 2nd February 2027 to cover a gap in training. This role offers a possible extension and is an excellent opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of a wide range of ENT conditions within a busy NHS setting.
About the Role
The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of ENT care, including outpatient clinics, elective and emergency surgery, inpatient management, and on-call duties, while progressing through higher specialist training. This post does not carry a national training number.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care for patients presenting with ear, nose, and throat conditions in both elective and emergency settings
- Participate in outpatient clinics, ward rounds, and operating theatre lists
- Perform and assist in ENT surgical procedures appropriate to level of training
- Contribute to the on-call rota, managing ENT emergencies such as epistaxis, airway compromise, and post-operative complications
- Supervise and support junior medical staff and contribute to multidisciplinary team working
- Engage in teaching of medical students and junior colleagues
- Actively participate in audit, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities
