Senior Clinical Fellow Posts in Neonatology
Applications are invited for full-time Senior Clinical Fellow posts (x2) in Neonatology at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. The post is available from 2 September 2026 for an initial 6-month period, with potential extension up to 24 months, subject to performance and service needs.
About the Role
The successful applicant will join a busy tertiary neonatal unit providing specialist care for babies across South Wales and beyond. This role offers excellent clinical experience in neonatal medicine within a leading children’s hospital, supported by a comprehensive teaching programme, study leave and a named educational supervisor. While not an accredited training post, educational opportunities are comparable to those available to deanery trainees.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality care for newborn infants across NICU, High Dependency, Special Care, Transitional Care and postnatal wards.
- Gaining broad clinical experience within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
- Developing skills in assessment, investigation, and management of babies requiring specialist neonatal care.
- Participating in ward rounds, handovers, multidisciplinary working, teaching, audit, and quality improvement activities.
- Receiving supervision and support from experienced senior clinicians.
