Job Description
Overview
Applications are welcomed for a fixed term appointment for 12 months. This post is suitable for post MRCP doctors with experience in general medicine or neurology.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the duties of the post which includes:
- Neurology and hyperacute stroke ward work
- Outpatient clinics
- Covering neurology and stroke out of hours on a 1:18 basis
- Supervision of the CMTs/JCFs attached to the unit
The post is mainly based at Denmark Hill but may rotate for a 3 month period to Princess Royal University Hospital.
Duties
This post is part of the neurology/stroke SpR training team and will be based in the neurology unit. The duties will comprise:
- Assistance with the care of patients on the wards
- Attendance at appropriate clinics
- Acute thrombolysis on-call
- On-call cover for regional neurology beds at King’s College Hospital
The appointee will be expected to carry out the duties of the post which include ward work and supervision of the SHOs/JCFs. A full timetable will be made available after appointment.
