Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Endocrinology & Complication from Excess Weight Service (CEW)
Role Overview
Clinical Fellow in the tertiary paediatric endocrine unit at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH) for up to 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Lead CEW clinics, reviewing both new and follow-up patients alongside members of the CEW multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Participate actively in the clinical management of patients attending CEW clinics.
- Undertake and complete clinical research projects within the department, focussed primarily on metabolic bone health.
- Support the day-to-day functioning of the paediatric endocrine service and diabetes inpatient service as required, contributing to both inpatient and outpatient care.
- Liaise with paediatricians in District General Hospitals regarding patient management, in collaboration with the endocrine consultants.
- Communicate with patients and families at home, working alongside endocrine consultants and nurse specialists.
- Review, interpret and summarise the results of endocrine investigations to support clinical decision-making.
- Prioritise clinical activities appropriately, ensuring urgent matters (including inpatient issues) are addressed promptly while making every effort to attend formal educational activities.
- Work under the supervision of both an educational supervisor and participate in regular appraisal, with support provided for the development of the fellow’s professional portfolio.

About the Role
This is a clinical fellow in the tertiary paediatric endocrine unit at RMCH. The fellow will be involved in clinical practice in Complication from Excess Weight Service, Paediatric Endocrinology, Metabolic Bone disorders, and inpatient diabetes work, and will be expected to undertake research work within allocated time also.

Successful candidates will be able to gain experience in Paediatric Endocrinology Services and Research work.
