Senior Clinical Fellow in Shoulder and Knee Arthroscopy/Reconstruction Surgery
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust invites applications from highly motivated and suitably qualified individuals to the role of Senior Clinical Fellow in Shoulder and Knee Arthroscopy/Reconstruction Surgery.
About the Role
Applicants should have grounding in shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery and have obtained the FRCS or equivalent. The post aims to provide specialist training for individuals who have either completed a UK training program and possess a CCT or equivalent training program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional training in current techniques in shoulder and knee reconstruction.
- Gain experience in all aspects of arthroscopic shoulder surgery as well as complex shoulder Arthroplasty.
- Undertake a full spectrum of soft tissue knee reconstruction, including multi ligament reconstruction, cartilage regenerative procedures, corrective osteotomy, and patella-femoral realignment/stabilization.
- Perform Unicompartment, Patellofemoral, Primary, and Revision Knee replacement surgery.

Opportunities
- Undertake independent supervised operating lists and attend outpatient clinics.
- Opportunity to undertake research and audit.
- Involvement in ongoing or new research projects is a major part of this post.
- Expected to undertake presentations and produce publications based on their work.
Team and Environment
- The post runs in parallel with another Senior Fellow.
- Ward-based cover is provided by junior doctors and an ANP.
- The department is supported by a Consultant Physiotherapist, an ESP, a Physician Associate, and a part-time Theatre Assistant.
