Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our forensic services team at Wathwood Hospital. This is a Band 7 Senior Clinical Pharmacist post, offering a stimulating and supportive environment in which to develop specialist clinical pharmacy practice within secure services.
You will deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services, lead on medicines optimisation, and apply or develop your independent prescribing skills as part of a skilled and collaborative multidisciplinary team.

We welcome applications from pharmacists who are ready to take on the full responsibilities of a Band 7 role, including those who hold or are working towards an independent prescribing qualification.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering expert pharmaceutical care to individuals with mental and physical health conditions, ensuring safe and effective use of medications.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary teams (MDT), providing medication reviews, offering therapeutic advice, and supporting treatment optimisation.
- Participating in MDT meetings and ward rounds, providing pharmaceutical input and patient-specific care plans.
- Providing training, mentorship, and assessments for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Offering specialist medicines information and counselling to patients, carers, and healthcare staff.
- Clinically validating prescriptions, overseeing dispensing activities, and ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
- Collaborating with the wider pharmacy team and MDT colleagues to develop and implement clinical audits, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborating with medical and nursing teams to optimise prescribing practices and medication management.
- Supporting the development and implementation of treatment guidelines and Trust-wide medicines optimisation strategies.
- Acting as a role model and providing leadership support, including cover for senior pharmacy roles when necessary.
- Providing out-of-hours pharmacy duties through participation in the pharmacy on-call service to maintain continuous pharmacy service.
