We are currently transforming our clinical pharmacy service across NHS Fife, as an integrated pharmacy service across hospital, primary care and specialist teams, under the Head of Pharmacy for Clinical Services. The aim is to join up care for our patients across transitions of care and ensure the best outcomes for patients with their medicines.
Due to a pending retirement, we are seeking a Senior pharmacist with cancer experience to join our team. Our cancer pharmacy team currently has a Lead, Senior Cancer Pharmacists, Specialist cancer pharmacists, senior technicians and a support worker. Within Fife we treat Breast, Colorectal, Gastrointestinal, Gynecological, Lung and Urological cancers as well as outreach from the Edinburgh Cancer Centre (ECC) for rarer tumors. Hematological malignancies are also treated within Fife in conjunction with our on-site Hematology MDT.
Each of our Senior Cancer Pharmacists will have a dedicated tumor specialty to manage with potential for clinic establishment in that specialty. You will link with the ECC for protocol and guideline development.
You must be dynamic, enthusiastic, and have a proven track record of delivering a new service. You should also be self-motivated and be able to work independently or as part of the pharmacy team and wider multidisciplinary team. Our successful candidates will be an excellent communicator who has the ability to build good relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals. You should have experience of working in a clinical environment and managing staff.

Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager. The secondment policy can be found here. If you do not have approval for a secondment from your current line manager, you will not be able to progress your application for a fixed term post. External applicants, with continuous NHS Service, must also have in place a secondment agreement, from their existing board to apply for this post.
