Role Overview
To lead, deliver, develop, and evaluate specialist clinical mental health pharmacy services within the R&A hub.
- Provide expert pharmaceutical advice and liaison to the R&A hub, GPs, practice pharmacists, other healthcare professionals (HCPs), and patients and carers.
- Lead on the non-medical prescribing pathway and act as an independent prescriber of medication, ensuring that drug therapy is evidence-based, safe, cost-effective, and appropriate to the individual patient.
- Provide training to the R&A hub, GPs, and other HCPs within primary care around the use of psychotropic medicines.
- Attend MDT meetings with the R&A hub and provide a link between primary care and CMHTs.
- Provide leadership for the non-medical prescribing pathway within the R&A hub.
- Ensure that drug therapy is evidence-based, safe, cost-effective, and appropriate to the individual patient.
- Develop pathways and the process of prescribing and monitoring of medicines within the R&A hub.
