Senior Clinical Pharmacist – Surgical Specialties ICU and Thoracic
1 WTE (37.5hrs/week) – Fixed-term for 10 months
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic clinical pharmacist with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills to support a high-quality service to the Surgical Specialist Division based at Westmoreland Street. The post is full-time, as part of the wider UCLH Pharmacy team.

Work Environment: You will work as full time within the Surgical Specialties multidisciplinary team (MDT), delivering the highest quality service for both inpatients and outpatients, alongside the ICU, Thoracic and Urology consultants, clinical fellows, clinical nurse specialists, dietitians and other healthcare professionals.

Institutional Background: UCH at Westmoreland Street offers comprehensive care for a spectrum of Urology and Thoracic services and is split into six sub-groups. The teams work closely together, along with other services such as the Assisted Conception Unit and Uro-radiology. Where possible, you will work to develop and enhance our existing systems, particularly where efficiency and productivity can be improved through our Electronic Health Records System, Epic, and the development of GP Connect.

Role Responsibilities:
- You will work as part of our broader clinical pharmacy team and contribute to local and national initiatives to develop and enhance the pharmacy service.
- Collaborating closely with the Urology, Thoracic and ICU providing specialist advice to optimise patient care.
- Use your non-medical prescribing skills in both the inpatient and outpatient setting to optimise the prescribing of specialist and supportive care medications.

- As a centre for excellence and research, you will have an opportunity to contribute to service development and quality improvement projects within urology and thoracic surgery teams.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Additional management and leadership responsibilities for the Surgical Specialties Division include governance, medicines expenditure analysis and reporting, audit and service evaluation, multi-professional education and training, and other strategic projects as required.
- Represent the UCLH Pharmacy Department at directorate and divisional clinical governance meetings.
