At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
In relation to Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker roles, we are currently able to recruit successfully from the domestic labour market and have a sufficient pool of suitably qualified and appointable candidates. As a result, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. This position is kept under regular review and may change in the future should labour market conditions or service requirements alter.
Important information for applicants: To ensure clarity of accountability, scope of practice and professional responsibilities, the Trust does not normally appoint individuals holding active NMC or HCPC registration into Band 2 Clinical/AHP Support Worker, Band 3 Senior Clinical/AHP Support Worker or Band 4 AHP Support Worker/Technician roles. Role Description:
The primary role of a Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multidisciplinary team; in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to person-centred care.

Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute to the health and well-being of patients, staff, and service users
- Communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion
- Work independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of registered nurses
- Demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurse and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines, and policies at UHNM
Skills and Requirements:
- Communicate appropriately with patients and visitors to the Ward or Department
- Portray a professional and respectful manner
- Receive patients, visitors, and staff in a calm, friendly, and efficient manner
- Exchange factual information with patients using reassurance, tact, and empathy
- Overcome barriers to understanding, for example, dealing with patients with physical or mental disabilities
- Hold basic keyboard skills
- Have dexterity to undertake nursing care procedures as appropriate
- Work under direct or non-direct supervision of a Registered Nurse as deemed appropriate and assist with all aspects of essential patient care
- Provision of personal care to patients
- Respect patient privacy and dignity at all times
