Senior AWS Cloud Architect | £550pd (Inside IR35) | Manchester | Active SC | ASAP Start
I'm currently supporting a fast-growing technology consultancy delivering complex cloud transformation programmes across both public and private sector environments.
We're looking for an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Architect who can take ownership of cloud architecture, provide technical leadership, and design secure, scalable cloud solutions within high-performing agile delivery teams.
Location: Manchester
Contract Rate: Up to £550 per day (Inside IR35)
SC: Must hold active SC
What you'll be doing:
- Leading cloud and solution architecture across multiple delivery workstreams
- Designing scalable, secure, resilient solutions using AWS services and cloud-native principles
- Working closely with engineering teams to provide technical leadership and architectural direction
- Making key technical decisions and communicating architectural trade-offs to stakeholders
- Designing solutions across applications, APIs, integrations, infrastructure and data platforms
- Supporting modern engineering practices including CI/CD, containerisation and DevOps
- Collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout project delivery

What we're looking for:
- Strong experience as an AWS Architect, Cloud Architect, Technical Architect, or similar
- Deep understanding of AWS services and cloud-native architecture patterns
- Strong software engineering background, ideally including Python, JavaScript and SQL/PostgreSQL
- Experience designing APIs, integrations and distributed cloud solutions
- Knowledge of GitHub, Docker and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of cloud security, scalability, resilience and operational best practice
- Experience leading technical teams and influencing architecture decisions

Highly Desirable:
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar)
- Serverless, event-driven and microservices architectures
- Automated testing and quality engineering practices
- Exposure to AI-powered products, services or integrations
