Senior Cloud Consultant
Glasgow (Hybrid) | Full Time
Our client is a growing Microsoft Solutions Partner delivering cloud and modern workplace projects to customers across a range of sectors. As their professional services team continues to grow, they are looking for a Senior Cloud Consultant to lead delivery of workstreams from requirements through to go live.
The role
Reporting to a Solution Architect, you'll take ownership of the solution on your assigned engagements, making sure what gets built matches what was agreed and works for the customer's business. You'll be the senior point of contact for your area, leading customer and internal workshops, driving requirements discovery and producing designs and specifications that secure customer sign off.
Day to day that means:
- Building and configuring the solution
- Planning and running data migration alongside the customer
- Writing and running test scripts and getting the customer through user acceptance testing
- Delivering knowledge transfer and training
- Producing the handover pack that the Managed Services team take the customer on with
- Guiding and reviewing the work of more junior consultants
- Keeping the project manager informed on progress and risk
- Flagging scope change early so delivery margin is protected

A continuous improvement mindset is important, including building reusable configuration patterns, test scripts and training material rather than starting from scratch each time.
What they're looking for
- Solid hands on experience across Azure and Microsoft 365 is essential, particularly Entra ID and identity management, Conditional Access and MFA, Intune, Autopilot and endpoint management, and core Azure compute, storage, networking and security services.
- Comfortable working directly with customer IT and infrastructure leads
- Confident presenting to management level stakeholders
- Previous consultancy experience, ideally within a Microsoft Partner or MSP, is important, along with the ability to work autonomously and manage a workstream with limited supervision.
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior colleagues will stand you in good stead.
- Exposure to Azure migration, backup and disaster recovery, Defender, Copilot Studio or DevOps would be an advantage.
- Pre sales scoping experience is a bonus but not essential.
