Senior Cloud Developer

This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with a requirement that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

The Role:

The Cloud Developer builds from the ground up to meet the needs of mission-critical applications, and is always looking for innovative approaches to deliver end-to-end technical solutions to solve customer problems.

  • Brings technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions.
  • Collaborates with project managers and development partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of Cloud engagements.
  • The Cloud Developer provides business value expertise to drive the development of innovative service offerings that enrich HPE's Cloud Services portfolio across multiple systems, platforms, and applications.

Contributions have substantial technical impact on a significant HPE product/project, or a strategic/architectural direction. Go-to creator and innovator for critical business challenges and opportunities.

  • Substantial, unique contributions provide long-lasting, recurring benefits like time-to-market improvements, cost reductions, or satisfying future and current unmet customer needs.
  • Recognized internal authority on key technology areas. Provides technical leadership to the business for significant project/program work. Leads and connects others across functions to unite around a common goal. Actively mentors others and contributes to the HPE technical community.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the identification, evaluation, and adoption of cutting-edge technologies, innovations, and strategic partnerships to drive growth and competitiveness.
  • Drives developing and implementing robust methodologies, standards, and best practices for software systems design, development, and integration.
  • Leverages recognized domain expertise and experience to influence decisions.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable value and impact.
  • Champion a culture of continuous innovation, thought leadership, and excellence in software systems design and help build technical community.
  • Provides strategic guidance and mentorship to senior technical teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and high-performance outcomes.
  • Analyzes science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex application problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or closely related quantitative discipline.
  • Typically, 7 – 10 years + experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Golang, or JavaScript.
  • Understanding microservice architecture and how they can be built in a containerized, Kubernetes-managed environment is central to all modern cloud-native applications.
  • Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into the overall architecture.
  • Evaluating forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and executing test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures and design proposals at senior management levels.
