About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our client's dynamic team near Stafford. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, supporting the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in cloud technologies, automation, and infrastructure management, with a passion for delivering scalable, reliable, and secure cloud platforms. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architects and developers, to optimize cloud environments and implement best practices that enhance operational efficiency and security.

- Between 1-3 years of hands-on experience working with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- A solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
- Experience with Linux/Unix or Windows server administration within cloud or virtualized environments.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation purposes.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Stackdriver.
- Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals are advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Assist in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid environments, ensuring high availability and security.
- Contribute to infrastructure builds using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, promoting automation and repeatability.
- Monitor system health, security, performance, and cost metrics using appropriate tools, and implement alerting solutions to proactively address issues.
- Investigate and resolve incidents affecting cloud platforms and services, minimizing downtime and impact on business operations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to create and maintain reusable infrastructure templates and deployment patterns, fostering consistency and efficiency.
- Develop scripts and automation workflows to reduce manual intervention, accelerate deployment processes, and improve operational workflows.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, support procedures, and runbooks to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the cloud engineering domain.
