Senior Cloud Engineer

Location: London – office based with occasional travel to client sites

Salary: Up to £50,000

Environment: Managed IT Services / MSP

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join a small, technically focused Managed IT Services provider supporting a range of growing businesses.

This is a hands-on senior position covering cloud systems, infrastructure, networking, and security, with responsibility for more complex technical work and escalations.

You’ll work across firewalls, security incidents, Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune/MDM, and networking, while also supporting client projects and helping improve their overall IT environments.

This isn’t purely a support role. You’ll be expected to take ownership of complex technical issues, build strong client relationships, and confidently recommend solutions based on customers’ technical and commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level support across client cloud, infrastructure, and security environments.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex firewall, networking, and security issues.
  • Investigate security breaches and perform root cause analysis.
  • Configure, manage, and update firewalls and routers.
  • Create and manage Group Policies (GPOs) within Active Directory environments.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Intune and other MDM platforms.
  • Create and configure VLANs and support wider network changes.
  • Support Microsoft 365 environments, including Conditional Access and SharePoint.
  • Create scripts to improve cloud deployment and reporting, primarily within SharePoint.
  • Take ownership of complex technical escalations through to resolution.
  • Deliver client projects on time and within budget.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and provide clear technical recommendations.
  • Explain technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate security, network, and infrastructure documentation.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and other technical teams where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
