About Appvia

Appvia is a specialist cloud, platform, and solutions engineering consultancy, helping organisations modernise infrastructure, improve reliability, and adopt cloud-native practices that enable long-term, sustainable delivery.

Our engineering capability spans AWS, Azure, platform engineering, networking, software, data, AI, delivery, and managed services.

We work across complex, high-impact environments in both the public and private sector, delivering solutions where security, resilience, scalability, and operational excellence are critical.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Cloud Network Engineer to join Appvia on a new secure public sector engagement, supporting and evolving critical network infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments.

This is a senior, hands-on role combining live service and operational support with network design, technical change, automation, and continuous improvement. You’ll take ownership of more complex networking challenges, helping shape solutions from requirements and design through to implementation and ongoing operation.

We’re particularly interested in engineers who have developed strong AWS networking expertise alongside traditional enterprise networking skills. Longer term, Appvia will support you in continuing to develop across cloud and platform engineering as part of your progression within the business.

Interview Process - 3 Stage

  • Discovery conversation with Talent Acquisition
  • Technical Interview with Engineering Team
  • Final Interview with Leadership

Important

You must hold active UK Security Clearance (SC). NPPV3 clearance is highly desirable.

RequirementsAbout You

You are an experienced Network Engineer with strong cloud networking knowledge, comfortable working across complex, highly available environments from design through to live operation.

You will bring:

  • Strong experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network environments
  • Deep understanding of routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, and VRFs
  • Strong Cisco networking experience, ideally including ACI / Nexus
  • Experience designing and operating cloud networking environments
  • Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and secure connectivity
  • Experience troubleshooting complex production networking issues and leading root-cause analysis
  • Infrastructure-as-code and network automation experience
  • Experience working in live service, operational, or managed-service environments
  • Confidence producing and reviewing network designs and technical documentation
  • Strong stakeholder communication and consulting skills
  • Active UK SC clearance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
