About Us

The Dyson Institute is a Higher Education provider offering state of the art employer-sponsored degrees in engineering and technology. We are intimately connected with Dyson, a global leader in technology innovation, and aim to develop the best engineers in the world combining rigorous academic programmes with professional work on future Dyson products from the outset. Our students incur no tuition fees and are paid employees from the time they join us, building their Dyson careers through a combination of stretching academic study and practical hands-on experience working with a range of teams at Dyson.

The Institute is a small, specialist team with a focus on quality and personalisation rather than scale. We have an exciting 2023-2028 strategy that sets the scene for us to increase our contribution as a strategic asset to Dyson. As our range of academic programmes expands towards postgraduate degrees for existing Dyson engineers around the globe, we are searching for a talented and innovative Senior Coaching and Experience Officer to join our Coaching and Experience Team.

About the Role

As a Senior Coaching and Experience Officer, you will be part of our Coaching and Experience Team.

Senior Coaching and Experience Officers play a pivotal role in the wellbeing, personal development and academic success of students at the Dyson Institute. Each postholder acts as a designated point of contact for a cohort of students, providing proactive and reactive support, guidance, coaching and case coordination.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate, supportive team in a unique and outstanding higher education provider.

You will be responsible for:

  • Inclusivity and a culture of belonging
  • Broadening perspectives and encouraging self-reflection
  • Critical support and interventions
  • Collaboration with external agencies and internal teams
  • Workshop and training delivery

In addition to core responsibilities, each Senior Coaching and Experience Officer will hold a specialist portfolio, for example:

  • Senior Coaching and Experience Officer (Disability and Neurodiversity)
  • Senior Coaching and Experience Officer (Mental Health and Wellbeing)
  • Senior Coaching and Experience Officer (International Mobility/ International Development)

Specialist portfolios will be determined through the selection process, considering individual skills and experience, alongside the evolving needs of the Institute and the students we support.

You’ll be based on the Dyson technology campus in Malmesbury and will report to the Coaching and Experience Lead.

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of Professional Development Days
  • Use active listening, motivational interviewing and solution-focussed techniques.
  • Identify individual learner needs and tailor coaching strategies to support students learning preferences and development
  • Promote resilience, self-awareness and self-management alongside wellbeing literacy

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
