Job Title: Senior Account Handler
Salary: £45,000 + Excellent Benefits
Location: Buckinghamshire (Hybrid Working Available)
PURPOSE OF ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Account Handler to join a well-established, national insurance brokerage. You'll play a key role in managing a portfolio of commercial clients, delivering exceptional service while supporting Account Executives and helping to retain and grow the business.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong client relationships, handling complex commercial risks, and working within a collaborative, forward-thinking team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of commercial insurance clients across a range of industries.
- Deliver outstanding client service, ensuring all enquiries and renewals are handled efficiently.
- Support Account Executives with new business opportunities and existing client relationships.
- Negotiate with insurers to secure the most suitable cover and competitive terms.
- Prepare and present renewal documentation, reports, and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell additional insurance products.
- Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and internal procedures at all times.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, clients, and internal stakeholders.

DAY-TO-DAY
- Managing renewals from start to finish.
- Handling mid-term adjustments, policy amendments, and client queries.
- Liaising with insurers to obtain quotations and negotiate terms.
- Producing accurate policy documentation and market presentations.
- Supporting clients with technical insurance advice and claims queries where required.
- Working closely with colleagues to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all administration is completed promptly.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a Commercial Insurance Account Handler or Senior Account Handler position.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and the UK insurance market.
- Experience managing SME and Mid-Corporate commercial clients.
- Comfortable working with insurers and negotiating competitive terms.
- Cert CII qualification (or working towards it) would be advantageous but is not essential.

- Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident using insurance systems and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive team player with a client-first approach.
