About the role:

As part of the Forecasting & Analysis Team, you will:

  • Support the development and maintenance of effective analysis and reporting to enable the successful management and recovery of Non-Commodity Costs from customers.
  • Develop and maintain Management Information (MI) to provide clear insights and support effective business decision-making.
  • Work closely with the Forecasting, Modelling and Hedging teams to streamline and enhance portfolio management, ensuring accurate hedging.
  • Provide analytical support and build strong relationships between the Commercial Team and key business areas, including Renewables, Strategic Sales and Finance.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate reporting and communication for Commercial and wider business stakeholders, presenting key findings and results at relevant meetings and forums.
  • Support the resolution of complex business challenges across the Forecasting, Commercial and wider business teams, including Renewables, Strategic Sales and Finance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality, accurate input data and support effective financial and portfolio modelling.
  • Provide detailed analysis, insight and recommendations to senior management to support informed business decisions.
  • Deliver bespoke and time-critical analysis to support key commercial activities, including tenders, new product development and other strategic initiatives.

Who we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role you’ll ideally have…

  • A good honours degree in a numerate discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A strong understanding of the wholesale electricity market, industry fundamentals and non-commodity costs.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work confidently with large volumes of data from multiple sources.
  • The ability to identify and interpret patterns and trends in data and translate these into meaningful business insights.
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel and experience using coding languages such as SQL or Python would be desirable.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • The ability to understand new and complex problems, identify requirements and use your knowledge and initiative to develop appropriate analytical models and reporting solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify and clearly explain complex information to a range of audiences.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build trusted relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
