Senior Commercial Finance Analyst / Hybrid Location: London

Are you a commercially minded qualified accountant looking to take the next step towards Finance Business Partnering? Do you enjoy moving beyond reporting numbers to understanding the commercial drivers of a business, influencing stakeholders and providing meaningful insight?

Join Smart DCC's Commercial Finance team and play a key role in supporting a significant proportion of the organisation's cost base. This role offers exposure to senior stakeholders, major supplier contracts, long-term financial planning and strategic decision-making across a business at the centre of Britain's smart energy network.

How you will contribute to transforming the smart energy network and shaping the future

  • Deliver high-quality management accounting, month-end activities, forecasting and reporting for a substantial area of the DCC cost base.
  • Partner with Contract and Supplier Management teams to understand cost drivers, challenge assumptions and support commercial decision-making.
  • Support annual budgets and long-term financial planning, helping to build financial forecasts and strategic business insights.
  • Review and challenge financial models, contract proposals and supplier cost forecasts to ensure robust commercial outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships across Finance and the wider business, providing financial insight to internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies where required.

What you need to bring

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Strong management accounting experience with the ability to interpret financial performance and communicate key insights.
  • A commercial mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions and understand the business drivers behind the numbers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with experience working collaboratively outside of Finance.
  • Curiosity, adaptability and a genuine interest in understanding operational, contractual and commercial activities that influence financial outcomes.
