Senior Commercial Finance Analyst
Marina Developments Ltd is the UK’s leading marina operator. We aim to deliver the highest level of service and experience for our visitors and customers, demanding the very best from ourselves whilst working as a team every day. To support our continued growth and investment across our marina network, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to play a key role in our team. This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful applicant will be required to attend various training courses in the initial period of employment as part of a full induction process.
About the Role
The role will include but not limited to:
- Prepare clear financial and commercial reports, highlighting key trends, risks, opportunities and performance drivers across MDL’s marina network.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning and scenario modelling, ensuring assumptions are robust and aligned with operational plans.
- Business partner with marina operations, infrastructure, commercial property and central teams, providing insight, challenge and practical recommendations.
- Analyse revenue, cost, margin, occupancy and KPI data to identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and cash generation.
- Develop financial models to support pricing, margin improvement, investment appraisal and strategic decision-making.
- Maintain the CAPEX forecast tracker and prepare business cases, including phasing, approvals, cash flow, payback analysis, sensitivities, risks and recommendations.
- Support continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, controls and reporting.

Key Requirements
The key requirements for this role are but not limited to:
- Qualified, part-qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant, preferably ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Experience in commercial finance, FP&A, management accounting, analysis or business partnering, ideally within a multi-site, operational or asset-backed environment.
- Advanced Excel, modelling and reporting skills; Power BI, Tableau or similar dashboard experience would be desirable.
- Confident analysing financial statements, commercial drivers, operational KPIs, budgets, forecasts, variances and investment cases.
- Able to translate complex financial and operational information into clear, practical insight for senior leaders and non-finance stakeholders.
- Commercially minded, proactive and detail-focused, with the confidence to challenge assumptions, manage competing priorities and build strong cross-functional relationships.
