About the Role
We are seeking a highly commercial and analytical Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner to support the Team17 business. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, this role will play a critical part in driving business performance through insightful analysis, robust financial planning and effective partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders.
The successful candidate will provide financial leadership across key commercial initiatives, supporting strategic decision-making, forecasting, budgeting and investment appraisal. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, the role will help maximise value creation and support the delivery of business objectives.
Role Overview
Finance Business Partnering
- Partner closely with the Head of Commercial Finance and leadership teams across Team17 to drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Act as a trusted advisor to departmental leaders, providing challenge, insight and recommendations to improve business outcomes.
- Develop a deep understanding of business performance, key value drivers and commercial opportunities.
Planning, Forecasting and Analysis
- Lead the preparation and coordination of annual budgets, regular forecasts and long-range planning processes for the supported business areas.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, including variance analysis and performance insights.
- Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Provide recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency and return on investment.

Commercial Decision Support
- Support evaluation of new product investments, growth initiatives and commercial opportunities through robust financial modelling and business case preparation.
- Build and maintain financial models to support scenario planning, sensitivity analysis and strategic initiatives.
- Support pricing, investment and resource allocation decisions through data-driven analysis.
- Assess the financial impact of strategic and operational decisions and provide actionable recommendations.
Performance Management
- Monitor and report on key financial and operational KPIs.
- Work with business stakeholders to identify performance improvement opportunities and track delivery against objectives.
- Support the delivery of monthly business reviews with clear commentary and recommendations.
Strategic Projects and Corporate Activity
- Support acquisition, integration and strategic growth projects through financial analysis and business case evaluation.
- Contribute to financial due diligence activities as required.
- Assist in developing investment proposals and strategic assessments for senior leadership.

Governance and Controls
- Ensure financial planning and reporting processes comply with Group policies and governance requirements.
- Support the identification and mitigation of financial risks.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting, forecasting processes and analytical capability.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in a Commercial Finance Business Partnering role within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders through strong financial insight and commercial acumen.
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business recommendations.
- Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-finance audiences.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
