Role: Senior Commercial Finance Manager

Location: Solihull (Hybrid)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000

About the Business

A fantastic opportunity to join an exciting, global professional services business, recognised as a leader within its field, as a Senior Commercial Finance Manager. Based in Solihull, this role offers genuine commercial exposure, working closely with a Commercial Finance Director to influence business performance and profitability across a portfolio of key clients and disciplines.

Main Duties

As a Senior Commercial Finance Manager, your main duties include:

  • Owning a portfolio of client accounts, producing and analysing weekly and monthly commercial data covering revenue, recoverability, margin and utilisation, and proactively flagging performance against target
  • Partnering with departmental leads and client teams to influence commercial decision-making, offering clear, data-led insight and constructively challenging stakeholders where needed
  • Supporting leads across the business in building realistic revenue forecasts, and giving early visibility of any potential variances to both client teams and senior finance colleagues
  • Taking ownership of relevant accounting and group policy compliance, particularly around WIP and revenue recognition, while overseeing WIP and billing processes to ensure they remain accurate and timely
  • Supporting client pitch activity, contributing to commercial and contractual workstreams alongside senior finance and legal colleagues, and helping to evaluate the commercial viability of new opportunities
  • Collaborating with senior finance and data teams to shape and continuously improve management reporting so it keeps pace with the evolving structure and needs of the business
  • Managing and developing a small finance team, coaching individuals to build their capability and drive strong performance

Location / Office / Culture

The role is hybrid, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, based in Solihull. You’ll join a modern, global professional services business that leads within its field, with a strong culture and excellent benefits on offer.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience operating in a senior commercial finance capacity
  • Full ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification – essential
  • A strong background in a commercial discipline such as business partnering or FP&A
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to translate large, complex datasets into clear commercial insight
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders clearly and persuasively
  • The ability to remain accurate and organised while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Desirable: familiarity with large ERP systems such as SAP, Workday or Oracle, prior experience within an agency or professional services environment, and exposure to client profitability and utilisation metrics
