The Job Role
This role is ideal for an ambitious qualified accountant looking to become a trusted business partner to senior operational and commercial stakeholders. Initially supporting a portfolio of business activities, the successful candidate will ultimately take ownership of a dedicated business pillar, providing insight, challenge and strategic financial guidance to drive profitable growth.
The position requires a blend of analytical excellence, commercial acumen and strong stakeholder management skills. The successful individual will identify opportunities for process improvement, leverage emerging AI and automation technologies, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Finance function.
This role offers a clear development pathway towards leadership and management responsibilities within the Commercial Finance team.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities Will Include
Business Partnering
- Develop strong relationships across Finance, Sales, Product Management, and Operations teams.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to senior operational and commercial stakeholders.
- Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve profitability, margin and working capital.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Produce meaningful management information and performance reporting.
- Analyse revenue, gross profit, margins, rebate performance and operating costs.
- Deliver variance analysis and actionable recommendations to support business performance.
- Lead monthly forecasting, annual budgeting and long-range planning processes.

Commercial Finance
- Support pricing, investment and strategic decision-making.
- Review and interpret vendor rebate agreements and commercial funding structures.
- Assess financial risks and opportunities associated with commercial initiatives.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and drive efficiencies through automation and AI technologies.
- Work closely with wider Finance and Data teams to enhance reporting capabilities.
- Champion innovation and best practice within the Commercial Finance function.
Leadership & Development
- Support and mentor junior members of the Finance team.
- Act as a role model for professional standards and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to developing future ways of working within the department.
- Build leadership capability with a view to progressing into a people management role.
Is this the role for you?
Skills
To be successful in this role you will have some of the following skills and experience and the desire to develop in other areas:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Strong commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering experience. Commercially curious with strong business acumen.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
- Confident communicator with excellent presentation skills. Proven ability to influence non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.
- Demonstrable experience identifying process improvements and driving change.
- Able to challenge constructively whilst maintaining strong relationships. Works collaboratively and team oriented.
- Resilient and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
