The Team
The central Women's & Girls team is a small, strategic team led by the Executive Director of Women's Game, responsible for driving delivery of the RFU's Women & Girls Action Plan and bringing together strategy, investment and accountability across the game.
The team brings together expertise across strategy and project management, rugby, commercial and fan growth, and stakeholder management. Together, we lead the Women's Game business model, strategic investment, major cross-functional projects, governance and advocacy, while building strong relationships across the game.
We work across the whole organisation, partnering with teams including Rugby Development, Commercial, Marketing, Ticketing, Communications, Venue, Finance and Data & Insights to ensure Women's & Girls priorities are embedded in decision-making and translated into delivery. We also work with a broad range of external stakeholders across the domestic and international game.
We're an ambitious and collaborative team, comfortable working across organisational boundaries, influencing at all levels and bringing people together around shared priorities. Our role is both to drive the Women's & Girls agenda and to ensure it is never an afterthought.
The Role
The RFU is entering an exciting and transformational phase for the Women & Girls game, underpinned by the ambition set out in the Every Rose: Our Time action plan. To accelerate progress, the RFU is recruiting a Senior Commercial Growth Manager, Women's Game, responsible for shaping the strategic approach to audience growth and identifying opportunities to maximise commercial value and revenue across the Women's Game portfolio, working in partnership with teams across the organisation to deliver against our long-term ambitions.
The Senior Commercial Growth Manager will lead the Women's Game strategic approach to commercial and audience growth, using insight to identify opportunities to attract, engage and retain fans, maximise commercial value and support the ambition of generating £60m revenue by 2030. Working across multiple internal functions, the role will translate Women's Game priorities into clear opportunities and plans, partnering with functional teams to support delivery and drive long-term commercial sustainability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
