Senior Commercial Manager

Framptons Ltd | Shepton Mallet, Somerset | £65,000–£75,000 plus bonus, car allowance and private medical benefits | Hybrid working: 2–3 days on site per week, plus customer visits

Framptons Ltd is looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to lead and develop some of our largest strategic customer accounts.

This is a senior, high-impact commercial role, working closely with the Commercial Director and wider Senior Leadership Team. You will take ownership of key customer relationships, drive sales and profitability, support contract negotiations, lead customer projects and help shape future commercial growth.

Framptons has been part of the food industry since 1898 and is an award-winning manufacturing business based in Shepton Mallet. We are known for our strong can-do culture, modern processing facilities, focus on quality and service, and our continued investment in innovation, technology and people. The business operates in the growing plant-based, dairy and liquid foods sector and works with leading brand owners to process and package their products.

About the Role

As Senior Commercial Manager, you will:

  • Manage and develop Framptons’ largest strategic customer accounts.
  • Deliver agreed sales, margin and profitability target.
  • Lead customer reviews covering commercial performance, service, quality, innovation and future opportunities.
  • Manage pricing reviews, forecasts, budgets, commercial proposals and contract renewals.
  • Work closely with Operations, Technical, Finance, Planning and NPD teams to deliver successful customer outcome.
  • Lead customer-specific NPD and commercial projects from concept through to launch.
  • Act as deputy to the Commercial Director, providing continuity and commercial leadership when required.
  • Manage and develop the Brand and Commercial Executive and Demand Planner.
  • Contribute as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong commercial judgement, excellent relationship-building skills and the confidence to influence at all levels. You will bring proven experience in national account management, ideally within food, beverage, FMCG or manufacturing.

You will need:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a National Account Manager, Senior National Account Manager or similar commercial role.
  • Experience managing major customer accounts within food or beverage.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Experience of pricing, forecasting, budgeting and margin management.
  • Confidence leading customer projects across multiple business functions.
  • Experience coaching or developing junior team members.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

Experience of contract manufacturing, Joint Business Planning, or plant-based, dairy or beverage sectors would be advantageous.
