Senior Commercial Manager for International Interior Design and Architecture Studio

Luxury Interior Design | Commercial Management | London | Salary £60,000 - £70,000

Senior Commercial Manager opportunity with a leading luxury interior design practice in London. HAUS Careers is partnering with this internationally recognised studio to appoint an experienced commercial professional to oversee project finances, contractual obligations and operational processes across a portfolio of high-end design projects globally.

Working closely with senior leadership, finance and creative teams, the Senior Commercial Manager will play a key role in strengthening commercial performance, managing contractual risk and improving project delivery across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the commercial performance of projects, monitoring profitability, budgets, revenue forecasts and financial targets.
  • Manage fee schedules, pricing structures and cash flow, ensuring accurate forecasting, invoicing and timely payment collection.
  • Lead contract negotiations with clients, consultants and third-party suppliers, managing contractual risks, variations and disputes.
  • Review RFPs, project scopes and fee proposals to ensure alignment with company standards and commercial objectives.
  • Oversee third-party appointments, additional design services and contractual close-out, ensuring fees are agreed, services delivered and payments secured.
  • Work closely with Finance and Business Development on contract initiation, project set-up, invoicing and project close-out.
  • Collaborate with design and technical teams to improve operational efficiency, maintain quality standards and ensure delivery aligns with agreed scopes.
  • Act as a key link between regional design teams, Regional Directors and London HQ, ensuring consistency across projects and commercial processes.
  • Support regional business planning, identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

About You

  • Experienced Senior Commercial Manager or commercial professional with a strong background in project finances, contracts and commercial operations, ideally gained within luxury interior design, architecture, construction or real estate.
  • At least four years’ experience in commercial management, contract administration or design operations within luxury interior design, architecture or real estate.
  • Strong knowledge of project contracts, commercial negotiations, risk management and contractual compliance.
  • Excellent financial and commercial acumen, with experience in fee management, revenue forecasting, project profitability and cash flow.
  • Confidence working closely with creative and technical teams, balancing commercial priorities with design quality.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across regional and international teams.
  • Experience within an international practice and knowledge of relevant construction and design regulations would be advantageous.
