Job Description

As Assystem's PM&C team is growing and we are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major defence project. The successful candidate will provide commercial and contractual expertise across the full project lifecycle, ensuring cost management, risk control, procurement support, and commercial governance on complex construction and engineering programmes.

Working within a multi-disciplinary project team, the postholder will play a key role in maintaining commercial performance, providing accurate forecasting, managing change, and supporting successful project delivery in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Administration for existing contracts, including performing, issuing or managing
  • Provide commercial advice to the Contract Leads
  • Ensure that all contract timelines are being met by the project team (management of CEMAR)
  • Applications for Payment
  • General communications under the contract
  • Programme submissions, where required
  • Forecast submissions
  • Change Management
  • Early warnings
  • Bid support for new call off contracts
  • Cost Control
  • Reporting
  • Support weekly and monthly progress meetings
  • Liaise with the client CEMAR Supervisor
  • Liaise with the client on Learning from Experience

Interfaces:

  • Interface with Contract Leads, Finance, Cost engineering and project controls functions
  • Interface with the client and Project Managers

Qualifications

Qualification, Special Skills or Experience:

  • Must have strong NEC contract experience, preferably NEC4 Professional Services
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel to at least intermediate level
  • Ideally degreed qualified in Quantity Surveying
  • Able to manage and prioritise competing priorities
  • Working to high levels of accuracy and contract compliance
  • Ideally prior CEMAR experience
  • Security Clearance will need to be attained for this role
