It is a hands-on and influential opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategy, innovation and stakeholder partnership to deliver work with real commercial impact.
Who We Are
Founded in 2013, City Football Group is the world’s leading private owner and operator of football clubs, with teams across the globe connected by a shared belief in doing things differently. Alongside our clubs, we invest in football-related businesses and build partnerships that help the game, and the communities around it, thrive. Everything we do is guided by our purpose: empowering better lives through football. Rooted in more than a century of “City” football, we are proud of the role our clubs play locally and globally, creating positive impact on and off the pitch.
Within our Media and Marketing department, the Commercial Media team helps turn digital opportunity into meaningful commercial value. We work across partners, brand growth, content monetisation and new ideas, bringing together creativity, technical knowledge and collaboration to deliver high-quality activation across CFG.
The Role
As Senior Commercial Media Manager, you will help lead the strategic and practical delivery of digital media solutions for commercial partners, helping to raise the quality of activation across Manchester City and the wider Group. You will bring specialist knowledge to a growth area of the department, supporting work that strengthens partner performance, brand visibility and direct media monetisation.
Your work will span digital strategy, paid media, owned and organic media, branded content and new commercial opportunities. You will help shape ideas, develop high-value campaigns and support the planning and implementation of solutions that are commercially relevant, creatively sharp and grounded in industry best practice. You will also contribute to the team’s thinking around future-facing developments, including new media approaches and emerging technology.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
