Job Title
An established engineering contractor is looking for an experienced ICA (Instrumentation, Control & Automation) commissioning professional to lead commissioning on clean and waste water projects. This is a planning, supervision and assurance role, not hands-on controls configuration. You'll set the commissioning strategy, oversee contractors on site and make sure every installation meets the design specification and asset standards before it goes live.
You will either be remote based, or travelling to sites around London and Oxford.
Responsibilities
- Develop commissioning plans, procedures and checklists based on project deliverables
- Supervise on-site installation and commissioning, ensuring quality, specification and asset standards are met
- Review design specifications and drawings, giving constructive comments
- Work with contractors to resolve faults and confirm ICA systems (control panels, PLCs, communications) perform to the design specification
- Liaise with construction and water operations teams to plan works and agree outages
- Lead commissioning planning and coordination meetings

Requirements
- Experience of ICA or C&I (control and instrumentation) commissioning in the UK water industry
- Proven experience planning and leading commissioning activity on site
- Enough technical knowledge of PLCs, control panels and communication systems to supervise and challenge contractors
- Able to read and review specifications and drawings
- Full, clean UK driving licence, and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays
- Desirable: SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS supervisor card, HNC or above in electrical or instrumentation
