Role Description

The Senior Commissioning Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the South Coast, surrounding area, United Kingdom. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting commissioning activities for electrical systems on construction and infrastructure projects.

The role involves coordinating with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and clients to schedule and optimize commissioning work, as well as preparing detailed test reports and handover documentation. The Senior Commissioning Engineer also mentors junior team members, contributes to continuous improvement of commissioning procedures, and supports health, safety, and environmental practices on site.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering knowledge, with practical experience in building services or industrial installations.
  • Candidates should possess skills in commissioning and Testing of systems, all relating to HVAC Services.
  • Candidates should possess experience as Commissioning Engineers, including planning, execution, and documentation of commissioning activities.
  • Candidates should possess Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Candidates should have familiarity with relevant BSRIA / CBSIE codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., BS standards), and strong attention to safety.
  • Candidates should have effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Candidates should have proven experience in construction or engineering projects in a similar senior role; leadership or mentoring experience is advantageous.
  • Candidates should hold a relevant technical qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; professional certifications or chartership status are beneficial.
