This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the entire commissioning process, ensuring systems are planned, tested, verified, and handed over safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations.
Working closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams, you will coordinate commissioning activities from initial planning through to final completion. You will lead multidisciplinary commissioning teams, manage project programmes, and ensure the successful delivery of mission-critical facilities to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning delivery of large-scale data centre projects across Europe.
- Develop and manage commissioning strategies, programmes, and project deliverables.
- Coordinate commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical, and control systems.

- Act as the primary commissioning contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely and in accordance with company and client procedures.
- Manage project commissioning schedules, resources, risks, and progress reporting.
- Chair commissioning meetings and provide regular updates to project teams and clients.
- Review commissioning documentation, test procedures, method statements, and completion records.
- Work collaboratively with construction teams to ensure systems are ready for testing and handover.
- Support the successful completion of integrated systems testing (IST) and final client handover.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all commissioning activities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
