Role Overview
The Senior Commissioning Manager will lead and coordinate commissioning activities for Nscale’s hyperscale data centre projects across Europe. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of system testing, verification, and handover, ensuring that facilities meet performance, safety, and operational readiness standards.

This owner-side role requires strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders throughout the commissioning process. Working closely with our Commissioning Agent/Technical Services Partner, Project Managers, MEP teams, and contractors, you will ensure integrated testing and documentation is completed to the highest standards before project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead phases of commissioning, through execution, testing, and handover.
- Develop and manage project-specific commissioning plans, schedules, and test procedures.
- Coordinate commissioning activities across all disciplines — mechanical, electrical, controls, and life-safety systems.
- Ensure commissioning scope aligns with project design intent, operational requirements, and Nscale standards.
- Oversee testing, verification, and documentation of system performance, including FAT, SAT, and IST stages.
- Review and validate commissioning reports, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
- Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and operations teams to ensure readiness for energisation and integration testing.
- Manage interface between construction, QA/QC, and operations during the transition to steady-state operations.
- Identify and resolve issues impacting system functionality, reliability, or safety.
- Support lessons-learned reviews and continuous improvement of Nscale’s commissioning standards and procedures.

Qualifications
- 8+ years’ experience in commissioning / MEP management with considerable experience within data centres, mission-critical, or large infrastructure projects.
- Qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent discipline).
- Proven experience managing integrated commissioning of critical power and cooling systems.
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with FAT, SAT, and IST testing for data centre systems.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages advantageous.
