About the Role

As a Senior Commissioning Manager, you’ll operate at the forefront of innovation, shaping and delivering bold, future-focused services that respond to the needs of children, young people and families in Salford. It is important that you understand the journey of children in care and can build relationships with providers, shaping the sufficiency needs in Salford.

This is a dynamic leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on influence, transformation, and impact. You will be responsible to ensure that commissioned services meet statutory requirements, demonstrate impact on outcomes, and support continuous improvement, whilst providing strategic oversight of children's placements, shaping the market and sufficiency. Your ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and lead robust procurement activity will be critical in ensuring services are both high-performing and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Line manage a small team.
  • Work with HR in supporting colleagues as required.
  • Experience of working at a strategic level, including communicating with Elected Members, Directors and Senior Managers across a wide range of services.
  • Share our values and commitment to outcomes for children and young people.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
