Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.
We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to lead a small team at Counter Terrorism Policing North West.
The post holder works closely with and advises CTPNW Command Officers with regard to all aspects of both internal and external communications in Counter Terrorism Policing in the North West. This ranges from tactical advice regarding crisis communications in the event of attacks and major investigations through to matters of policy and procedure and internal messaging.
You will work closely with national Counter Terrorism HQ Communications based In London and a wide range of partners in playing a pivotal role in maintaining confidence in Counter Terrorism policing both in the north west and nationally.

- You must be a UK National to work for CTPNW. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be considered. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and therefore will not be able to perform their duties.
- As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process. Vetting Requirements
This is a designated post under the Force Vetting Strategy and the post will therefore applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) level before taking up the post.
For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
