About Wellcome
Wellcome is a global philanthropy. Our aim is to build healthier futures for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.
We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease, and climate and health.
These challenges need the bold science we support, but they won’t be solved by science alone.
Where will I be working?
You'll join Wellcome's Communications team, working closely with colleagues across News and Content, Events and Studio teams. Reporting to the Media and Planning Lead, you'll play a key role in coordinating communications activity across the organisation, helping teams work together effectively to maximise the impact of Wellcome's work and reputation.
What will I be doing?
You'll coordinate communications planning and delivery across Wellcome, managing calendars, workflows, and approvals to ensure activity is well-timed and strategically aligned. You'll support media relations and digital content projects, maintain content libraries, track performance metrics, coordinate stakeholders across teams, and help deliver high-quality communications that engage external audiences and support Wellcome's mission.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
