Senior Communications Manager
A leading Investment Bank is seeking a Senior Communications Manager to join their team in London.
Role Overview
Lead and deliver the London Branch communications agenda in close coordination with the Communications Team in Paris, acting as a trusted adviser to local senior management and business lines. The role supports business growth, employee engagement, and the client brand by delivering clear, consistent, and compliant internal and external communications, events, and stakeholder engagement, while protecting the firm’s reputation.
What you will be doing
Events
- Manage selected external and internal events for the platform including corporate events, client events, conferences, roadshows, town hall meetings, etc.
- Handle all operational aspects of relevant events, working with other communications representatives as needed.
- Originate event proposals to meet specific business or corporate objectives.
- Manage statutory processes for events and conduct post-event reporting.
- Agree objectives, audiences, key messages, delivery plans, and success measures for each event, ensuring alignment with business priorities, brand standards, accessibility requirements, and applicable approval processes.
CSR / Staff Activities
- Drive the organic growth of the CSR culture at London Branch and support the Charity and Sports & Social Committee.
- Support the London network resources – All Equals, WiNN-UK, Early Careers, and multi-cultural networks.
- Organize staff activities and handle operational aspects as appropriate.
- Develop communications that strengthen employee engagement and an inclusive workplace culture, working with relevant employee networks and governance forums.
Content / Social Channels
- Systematically produce real-time content on events including write-ups, quotations, photographs, videos, etc.
- Arrange video recording of events as needed.
- Contribute to the creation and delivery of content through internal channels, including the intranet, the internal social network, digital totems, posters, emails, etc.
- Own the London editorial calendar and provide drafting and quality assurance for executive communications, leadership messages, speeches, presentations, announcements, and business updates.
- Coordinate external communications and media activity with CIB Communications and approved agencies, including press materials, speaking opportunities, awards, and reputation-sensitive enquiries.
- Support crisis, incident, and change communications, preparing timely stakeholder messaging and coordinating approvals with senior management, Compliance, Legal, HR, and other relevant functions.
- Maintain communications plans, stakeholder maps, and performance dashboards; monitor engagement, reach, and feedback, and use insights to improve future activity.

Budget Management
- Help manage the Communications budget for selected business lines, including the Charity & Sports Committee, All Equals Network, Multicultural Network, early careers network, and WiNN-UK.
- Manage purchase orders, invoices, supplier relationships, and expenditure tracking for assigned activities, ensuring value for money and compliance with procurement and third-party risk requirements.
Systems Management
- Maintain a database of conferences and other events that the Bank may consider sponsoring, as well as awards that the Bank may consider submitting for, in coordination with head office and external media agencies.
- Maintain a shared database of all venues, vendors, and other external parties that the team works with.
- Maintain accurate communications records, distribution lists, consent and image-release documentation, and shared assets in accordance with data-protection, information-security, and records-management requirements.

What we need from you
- Seasoned Head of Communication / Senior Communications Manager operating in a global banking environment (IB / Markets).
- Proven track record of success leading, driving, and owning the communication strategy for a global bank – happy to be the strategic leader whilst also possessing the ability to roll-up the sleeves and lead from the front.
- Experience managing digital and social channels, multimedia content, and communications measurement tools, with sound judgement regarding confidentiality, data protection, reputational risk, and approval requirements.
- Ability to work autonomously, team player, good relationship skills, fast working, takes initiatives, excellent attention to detail, ability to follow compliance and graphics charter procedures, etc.
- Fully conversant with the range of office administrative procedures and systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Office, databases, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communicator with both key internal stakeholders as well as external third parties.
- Excellent interpersonal, organization, and planning skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative with a high degree of independence as well as part of a team.
- Strong strategic writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex business, financial, and regulatory topics into clear, audience-appropriate communications.
- Demonstrated ability to advise senior stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines in a complex, international, and regulated environment.
