Hours: 35 hours per week

Our client is looking for a Senior Communications Officer to join the team on a full time, 12 months fixed-term contract.
About Us
Our client is an international humanitarian organisation that strives for a world free from poverty, fear and oppression. They deliver life-saving and life-changing interventions to the world's poorest and most vulnerable people. From rapid emergency response to innovative development programming, they go to the hardest to reach places to make sure that no-one is left behind. With a large staff of many nationalities, our client operates in dozens of the world's poorest countries, helping people to achieve major and long-lasting improvements in their lives.
While the role can be primarily remote, there is an expectation of regular on-site presence, including a minimum of one day per week in the office, with two all-in office days a month. The postholder will also be required to attend external and face-to-face meetings to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
Their London office is based in a vibrant and eco-conscious co-working space in South London. You'll be based in a dynamic, purpose-driven workspace designed to support collaboration and innovation. The building offers excellent on-site facilities, including a café and a programme of monthly events, workshops, and networking opportunities with other charities and NGOs based there. With its welcoming, inclusive environment, it's a place where people come together to work, connect, and drive meaningful change every day.
The Role
As Senior Communications Officer, you'll play a key role in raising our client's profile and advancing their mission through strategic, high-impact communications. Working closely with the Director of Communications, you'll lead media relations, identify and secure opportunities to amplify their voice, create engaging content across multiple channels, protect and strengthen their brand, and support advocacy, fundraising and organisational campaigns. You'll build relationships with journalists and key stakeholders, support senior spokespersons, help shape leadership profile-building, collaborate with colleagues across the UK and internationally, and deputise for the Director when required. This is a varied and rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to create communications that inspire action and drive lasting impact.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
