Job Overview

The post holder will support the Trust with the design, planning and delivery of recruitment and retention communications initiatives including adverts and campaigns and the development of a consistent and engaging employer brand. Helping CNWL embed its employee value proposition and become recognised as a great place to work with unique opportunities to grow and develop.

Working closely with Operational Managers, Departmental Leads and our Workforce teams (especially the Attraction Team), they will take responsibility for creating engaging campaigns and compelling content for a range of online and offline channels, maximising successful recruitment and retention outcomes through high engagement, impressions, and applicant conversions. The post holder will also be responsible for protecting the reputation of CNWL, connecting authentically with job seekers/existing staff/candidates online and providing a positive experience. They will identify recruitment and retention needs, ensure that plans, social media initiatives and campaigns are supported by best practice candidate attraction and employer branding across all Trust divisions including Corporate Services. The postholder will also support with workforce initiatives such as recognition, wellbeing and retention initiatives (including the staff survey).

Main duties of the job

Overview of essential responsibilities:

  • To provide a professional social media management service, monitoring social media channels for our recruitment and candidate attraction. This includes the ability to create and schedule social media content using scheduling software, as well as manage and edit content provided by colleagues.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

  • Establish clear digital marketing strategies for the organisation and plan and implement targeted recruitment campaigns to support hard to recruit vacancies. Develop high quality innovative communications plans which support the Trust’s strategic recruitment objectives.
  • Develop and grow followers to workforce social media channels and create content plans for Trustwide initiatives alongside retention and recruitment content.
  • Use Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, and other relevant sites to increase digital conversion rates. Monitor and amend delivery to offer best return on investment and impact
  • Support the development of videos to retain and attract candidates to roles within the Trust making use of an existing stock of videos to showcase the diverse and varied positions available across the Trust’s geography and service portfolio
  • Provide analysis and reports on website and social media account performance and review platforms where colleagues/former colleagues can leave feedback such as Glassdoor.
  • Support the development and embedding of CNWL’s new employee value proposition (ownership of the brand toolkit and assets) Develop our employer branding and recruitment attraction strategies to ensure a consistent approach across all media
  • Make sure all marketing collateral meet legal, compliance and regulatory requirements and comply with CNWL brand guidelines.
  • Support the development and production of print materials for open days and events including posters/flyers/pop up banners alongside online promotion.
  • Lead of a review of the workforce Trustnet and webpages to enhance the user journey (linking with Service Now) and make sure relevant information and resources are stored on the intranet for hiring managers and the wider organisation to access
  • Responsible for logging and tracking potential issues with online platforms and creating plans for fixes and improvements, escalating to the Head of Recruitment as required
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the Communications Team, supporting to promote any recruitment/workforce content and communications
  • Plan and book advertising campaigns, working with the inhouse design team (when possible), agencies/publications and management team to plan and agree advert content and associated recruitment activity. Attend relevant divisional meetings to identify forthcoming recruitment needs in line with the Divisional Workforce and service development plans
  • Seek new and innovative ways of promoting CNWL as a place to work, presenting a range of costed strategies to support recruitment and retention needs
  • Prepare job advertisements and any other recruitment promotional/marketing materials required to promote opportunities within the Trust in the best possible way.
  • Book attendance at relevant recruitment fairs/conferences, liaising and coordinating across the divisions regarding appropriate staff to attend.
  • Provide and promote ideas relating to relevant recruitment advertising opportunities, such as attendance at conferences, recruitment fairs, national publications, etc. based on knowledge and research of the recruitment market.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Departmental Leads, Operational Managers and Divisional Recruitment Leads in order to understand and manage expectations and workload.
  • Work to deliver the best possible return of investment on any capital expenditure relating to advertising and recruitment activity.
  • Join the Recruitment Advisors (when need be) to influence colleagues regarding recruitment strategies and adoption of best practice approaches to recruitment. Participate, as required, in working groups, presentations and training programmes being prepared to deliver training sessions to line managers within the divisions.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Recognised journalistic qualifications (print, broadcast or periodical), e.g. NCTJ (National Council for the Training of Journalists) National Certificate Exam or NVQ Level 4, or equivalent experience.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Significant experience of use of software and technology adding content to websites and intranets.
  • Experience of writing, editing and producing a wide range of communications materials for a range of channels.
  • Experience of web editing and content management

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working in a recruitment environment

Skills

Essential criteria

  • Significant social media engagement experience and skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative on all matters pertaining to planning media recruitment campaigns.
