Senior Community Engagement Manager
We're looking for an experienced Senior Community Engagement Manager to lead community engagement activities for a major infrastructure programme. This role will focus on building relationships with local communities, councils and key stakeholders, delivering successful consultation activities, and managing sensitive conversations around project impacts. The role is a full-time position with 3 days in the office near Hounslow, and will start in late November/early December 2026 running until the end of January 2027, inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small Community Engagement team.
- Deliver and continuously improve the community engagement strategy.
- Plan and run public consultations, engagement events and stakeholder meetings.
- Manage relationships with local communities, councils and stakeholder groups.
- Oversee community communications, newsletters and engagement reporting.
- Ensure all engagement activity is captured, measured and evaluated.
- Manage community enquiries and stakeholder feedback processes.
- Represent the project at public meetings and consultation events.

Essential Experience
- Significant experience in community engagement, consultation or stakeholder management.
- Background working on major infrastructure, construction, regeneration or development projects.
- Experience engaging with local authorities, community groups and residents.
- Strong public speaking, presentation and communication skills.
- Experience managing teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to handle challenging conversations with diplomacy, empathy and resilience.

Desirable
- Experience on projects such as transport, aviation, highways, rail, utilities or major regeneration schemes.
- Experience working on programmes similar to HS2, Thames Tideway, Lower Thames Crossing, airport developments or comparable infrastructure schemes.
- Experience relating to property acquisition, compulsory purchase or significant community impact projects.
Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Communications, Community Engagement, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
