Make a Difference to Communities Across Elmbridge

Elmbridge is a great place to live, work and do business, and our vibrant voluntary, community and faith sector plays a huge role in making that possible. We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Community Partnerships Officer to help us strengthen those relationships and ensure local people continue to receive the support they need.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a high-profile role at the heart of partnership working across the borough. You'll work closely with community organisations, health partners, local businesses, councillors and council services to help tackle local challenges, respond to emerging needs and deliver positive outcomes for residents.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be the council's lead officer for supporting and developing relationships with the voluntary, community and faith sector, bringing partners together to address local priorities and helping ensure local organisations have the support they need to thrive.

A key part of the role is overseeing our grants and funding programmes, including Elmbridge Lottery and other community funding schemes, ensuring investment is targeted where it can make the greatest impact. You'll also lead on partnership responses to issues affecting residents, including cost of living challenges, and help shape how the council engages with communities across the borough.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
