Senior Compliance Associate – Private Markets Advisory

Global Asset Manager | London | Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite

12 month contract | £300 - £350 per day PAYE inside IR35

Private Markets | Compliance Advisory

We are supporting a leading global investment management firm with the appointment of a Senior Compliance Associate to join its Private Markets Compliance Advisory team on a maternity cover contract.

This is a hands-on advisory role working closely with Front Office investment teams and senior stakeholders across Private Markets, including Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure, and Real Estate.

You will act as a trusted compliance adviser to the business, providing practical, commercially focused guidance on regulatory and compliance matters arising throughout the investment and product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing day-to-day compliance advice to Private Markets investment professionals and senior stakeholders.
  • Advising on regulatory matters arising as part of investment activity, product launches and changes, client distribution, while partnering closely with investment, legal, risk, and product teams.
  • Providing guidance on relevant regulatory requirements, including AIFMD, MiFID, MAR, and investor protection requirements.
  • Advising on regulatory considerations relating to distribution, ESG, and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Partnering closely with Investment, Legal, Risk, Product, and other control functions.
  • Building strong relationships with the business and delivering pragmatic, risk-based compliance solutions.

  • Strong experience within Compliance Advisory in investment/asset management is essential in this role.
  • Clear track record of advising investment professionals and senior stakeholders on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Private Markets experience is highly desirable, although candidates with strong broader investment management advisory backgrounds will be considered.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure would be particularly advantageous but is not essential.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant UK/EU regulation, ideally impacting private markets such as AIFMD, ELTIF/LTAF, market abuse regulation, conflicts of interest frameworks, and investor protection requirements.
  • Understanding of alternative investment products, funds, and private market structures.
  • Confidence advising senior stakeholders and navigating complex or judgement-based compliance issues.
  • Strong communication, relationship-management, and organizational skills.
  • An interest in and proficiency with AI tools/technology would be highly desirable.
