Nordson Test & Inspection, a global leader in world-class metrology equipment and inspection systems, is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Compliance Engineer to join our team in Colchester, United Kingdom. Summary Of The Role
We are seeking a Senior Compliance Engineer to support the development and delivery of advanced inspection and test systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a compliance professional to play a key role in ensuring our products meet global regulatory, safety, environmental, and trade compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams, you will help embed compliance into product development, ensuring our products remain safe, compliant, and ready for global markets.

Role And Responsibilities
- Take ownership of product compliance activities across the full product lifecycle.
- Interpret and apply international regulations and standards, including CE, the EU Machinery Directive, EMC, OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, SEMI, and FDA requirements.
- Partner with Engineering teams to ensure compliance and safety requirements are incorporated into product design and development.
- Ensure components and materials comply with relevant requirements, including RoHS, REACH, UL, FCC, and Conflict Minerals requirements.
- Maintain technical files, compliance documentation, certification records, and declarations of conformity.
- Act as the compliance subject matter expert, providing guidance across Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain functions.
- Manage relationships with external certification bodies and regulatory agencies.
- Support trade compliance activities, including HTS classification, Country of Origin (COO), ECCN, OGEL, and SIEL licensing requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance-related business processes.

Skills And Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- 2-3+ years' experience in product compliance, regulatory engineering, or a similar role.
- Experience supporting compliance activities within product development teams.
- Knowledge of machinery safety and regulatory requirements for electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience using SISTEMA, Safeexpert, or equivalent safety analysis tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical engineering solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Travel
This is a UK-based, office-based role with regular travel between UK sites, approximately 25%. The primary location is Colchester, with Aylesbury as an additional location.
