We are looking for an individual with experience and a good knowledge of the Highways Act 1980 and New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. As Senior Compliance Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the Council's statutory duties under the HA/NRSWA and related legislation are upheld. This includes the administration and enforcement of licences, supporting compliance performance improvement for works promoters, and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders.
- You'll lead the application and approval process for licences, including site visits, discussions and negotiations, as well as the inspection and enforcement of sites, including the issue of Fixed Penalty Notices where applicable.
- You'll help ensure that all works and activities on the public highway are carried out safely, legally and with minimal disruption to the public.

The role also involves:
- Supporting Statutory Undertaker performance and compliance meetings.
- Managing network-related issues.
- Ensuring works are undertaken in line with national legislation and local priorities.
- Working with communities and works promoters to help resolve local challenges.
We're looking for an experienced individual with a track record in statutory auditing and a strong understanding of current legislative requirements. You'll be highly organised, self-motivated and have a keen eye for detail, with the ability to build effective working relationships and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including elected members, while maintaining professional standards.
