Senior Compliance Manager

£Salary dependent on experience

UK Remote | Permanent | Full-Time

Cameron Kennedy is working on a confidential appointment for an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to join a fast-growing, specialist business operating at the intersection of regulated claims management, customer acquisition, and legal services. Reporting to the Compliance Director, this is a senior, hands-on leadership opportunity for a compliance professional who can provide credible independent challenge while working constructively with commercial, marketing, operational, and technology teams. The role can be based remotely anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel as required.

The Role

You will lead the day-to-day compliance function, supporting the continued development of the regulatory framework and ensuring high standards of customer outcomes, governance, and control. Key areas will include:

  • Regulatory Compliance and Governance: Oversight of FCA-regulated claims-management activity and the wider regulatory perimeter.
  • Advertising and Customer Acquisition: Owning and operating the compliance approval framework and approval and monitoring of advertising, financial promotions, lead-generation activity, and customer journeys.
  • Compliance Monitoring and Quality Assurance: Compliance monitoring, risk assessments, policies, regulatory change, and management information.
  • Consumer Duty and Customer Outcomes: Consumer Duty, complaints, incidents, remediation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Advisory, Risk, and Escalation: Providing clear, commercially grounded advice and escalating material regulatory or customer-outcome risks appropriately.
  • Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Managing a small team and stakeholders
  • Leading and developing compliance monitoring and quality-assurance capability: Including maintaining a risk-based compliance monitoring programme addressing the company’s principal regulatory and customer-outcome risks.
  • Complaints, Incidents, and Remediation: Conducting complaints handling and ensuring compliance with DISP, applicable Financial Ombudsman Service requirements, and internal service standards.
  • Regulatory Change, Policies, and Training: Including conducting horizon scanning across FCA, ASA, government, and relevant industry developments and assessing the operational and commercial effect of regulatory change and maintaining an effective regulatory change programme.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Person

This search is deliberately targeted. Direct senior compliance experience gained within an FCA-regulated claims management company or marketing and client acquisition agency for law firms is essential — applications from broader financial-services compliance backgrounds without this specific experience will not be suitable and will not be considered.

You will bring:

  • A strong, current working knowledge of the FCA regulatory framework applicable to claims management, including CMCOB, Consumer Duty, SYSC, DISP, SM&CR, and regulatory reporting/engagement.
  • Proven expertise in compliant customer acquisition, advertising, and financial promotions, including digital channels, lead generation, and live-campaign oversight.
  • Some knowledge of UK GDPR, PECR, and data-sharing/direct-marketing requirements.
  • Experience working closely with claimant law firms and an understanding of the legal-services and referral environment.
  • A demonstrable ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge constructively, and stop or remediate activity where standards are not met.
  • A hands-on, organized, and delivery-focused approach, with sound judgment, discretion, and strong written communication.

Experience in high-volume consumer claims, regulated financial-services claims, personal injury, litigation funding, or related claimant-acquisition models would be particularly valuable. Previous SMF16 or equivalent senior compliance responsibility is desirable, but not essential.
