What you’ll do:
This is an exciting position for an accomplished compliance professional to join a consumer credit business that is growing. As we make this transition, we need people who can help us to move forward safely while keeping the customer at the heart of our business.
As Senior Compliance Manager, Advisory you will be responsible for providing compliance advice across our business and helping us deliver good customer outcomes and operate compliantly. We have a focus on continuous improvement across all areas, so you will have the opportunity to refine and improve our compliance processes and frameworks from day one.
We are looking for someone who naturally considers the customer in everything they do and has a range of experience within the consumer credit sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice, guidance, and challenge to the business on the interpretation and application of the laws, regulations, voluntary codes, policies, and procedures applicable to the firm.
- Own horizon scanning for the firm, ensuring that regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks are assessed, communicated, and have appropriate visibility within the firm.
- Own and maintain compliance policies, ensuring they are fit for purpose, reviewed regularly, and effectively communicated within the firm.
- Own and maintain compliance training, ensuring it is comprehensive, fit for purpose, reviewed regularly, and completed on time.
- Lead delivery of regulatory change programmes of varying scale.
- Support the CCO and CRO with engagement with relevant regulatory bodies, ensuring information requests, calls for input, consultations, and regulatory reporting activities are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Complete assurance activity, including gap analysis exercises, to ensure delivery of good customer outcomes and assess levels of compliance.
- Provide oversight and support to first line through regular engagement on governance papers, thorough compliance advice, assessment alongside conduct considerations, and supporting overarching business objectives.
- Prepare and present reports and updates to senior management on the compliance position of the firm, including developing and producing appropriate management information.

What you need:
Essential
- Experience working in a regulated environment with a particular focus on consumer credit products.
- In-depth knowledge of the regulatory landscape, with a particular focus on CONC, DISP, SMCR, SYSC, PSRs, PSD2, FIT, and Consumer Duty.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to communicate and influence effectively in a variety of settings.
- Strong organizational skills and good judgment.
Desirable
- Degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field.
- Compliance qualification e.g. ICA.
- Ability to lead and develop a small team should this be required in the future.
